The Technique

A nose job is performed either under general anesthetic or under local anesthetic with sedation, and is often treated as a day case, meaning you will not have to stay in the hospital overnight. The procedure usually takes one hour to complete depending on the extent of the work that Dr. Foued Hamza will have to do. There is no one technique for this procedure as it depends on what you are unhappy with and what you want to achieve.

The Recovery

After the rhinoplasty, you may have gauze placed in your nostrils to keep the newly reshaped tissues intact. You may also have a nasal splint or cast to help you recover.

Listen to Dr. Hamza’s recovery directions, such as avoiding blowing your nose (or, if necessary, doing it very gently) and keeping your head above your heart when you sleep to minimize swelling. You must have a week of downtime, take pain medications as instructed, and avoid strenuous activities.

Make sure to come to Dr. Hamza’s follow-up appointments. If a nasal splint was placed, it may be removed a week after the surgery. The final results may not be fully apparent until up to a year has passed, when all swelling has ameliorated.
